Caring Connections

Caring Connections, a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), is a national consumer and community engagement initiative dedicated to improving care for people living with an illness, grieving a loss, or caring for someone. This site offers helpful advice on planning ahead, including individual state advanced directives, and a search function for local care centers.

Family Caregiver Alliance

The Family Caregiver Alliance is an informative and supportive site for caregivers of adults with a range of brain diseases and disorders. It includes many helpful tips and maintains sections about statistics and research, public policy, educational programs and conferences, publications, and links to other resources. Some information is available in Chinese and Spanish.

MEDLINEplus: Caregivers

This easy to use service of the National Library of Medicine provides links to articles, research reports, and organizations covering various aspects of caregiving. Some information is available in Spanish.

NIH Senior Health: Caring for Someone with Alzheimer's

This section of NIH Senior Health provides information about home care, residential care, safety issues, FAQs, and caregiver support.

Well Spouse Association

The Well Spouse Association offers support for wives, husbands, and partners of the chronically ill and/or disabled. The site includes publications by the Association, notices for upcoming regional events, support group information, relevant stories from other spouses, and links to resources, including the “Well Spouse Cookbook,” full of healthy and easy recipes.
