Of course, meditation changes the brain. If playing the violin changes he map for the left hand, it is certainly probable that continuous exercise aimed at focusing the thought patterns during meditation teaches the brain to attentionally achieve a unity of consciousness. This should have been obvious years ago then synchronicity between the two hemispheres was noted. This is representative of not only a greater unity of experience, but a consciousness that utilizes both hemispheres resources more completely.
