As a second generation former foster youth turned Child Welfare Advocate double majoring in Neuroscience & Public Policy & hoping to go into neuro ethics... this article is news of historical proportion! I hope California follows suit. I first came from teaching at a brain-based school (PreK-12th, I taught PreK-2nd and Co Taught 6th) I also have my early childhood Education Teaching Certificate. Between studying Human Development and DAP in ECE then transferring into child welfare I was astonished how the basic domains of development are not appropriately met. Understanding long-term problems that result of this I have had much concern. Hearing about Florida's new program and programs like the Birth to Six Project have really confirmed we are on the edge of a full-force foster care reform. Miranda R.
