I am happy to read that neurofeedback using fMRI is receiving more attention, but I'd like to point that the results described in this article are not really novel: various types of real-time fMRI algorithms have been tested and neurofeedback studies performed by Bettina Sorger and Rainer Geobel from Maastricht University, including ongoing work with locked-in patients in the clinic in Liege (Belgium).
