D2 vs D3

Actually, Mary Kite is incorrect. In a study done by Hollick et al at Boston University, it showed that supplementation with D2 was equally effective in raising patients vitamin D levels, and yes, they did use the appropriate blood test, which was actually created by Hollick himself. I cannot take D3 because of reactions I have to both fish and lanolin, which are the 2 sources for D3. Only D2 can I take, and it has worked wonders for me...

As a provider, I've only recently started ordering Vit D, 25-hydroxy lab levels. I've been amazed of the numbers of patients who are deficient and what an easy fix!

What this article fails to emphasize is the difference between vitamin D3 and D2. Many folk don't understand that it's D3 that's needed. Otherwise, this is a helpful article. Thanks!
