Immunology of psychopathy

Speculation is rife concerning the pathophysiology of psychopathy, but if it is true that it may be due in part to either a lack of gray matter in the amygdala and the prefrontal cortex or breakdown of white matter connections between these two areas, as some studies suggest, there could well be be neuroimmunological causes (i.e. related destructive immune cell activity) similar to those described in this article. If neurophysiological causation of psychopathy (particularly Hare's "Factor 1" types) could be identified, perhaps it could be brought under control, or at least discussed more objectively than at present, and "collateral societal damage" could finally be obviated.
