When I searched the internet to see if there was possible cure for my insomnia, I found this to be the most interesting to open.As I read through the entire article I was becoming more and more excited until at the end in which it states that the study was inconclusive: does the GABA level cause insomnia or does insomnia cause the GABA level. I was so disenhearted...very much let down and disapointed. Being an insomiac for more than half of my life (I'm presently 66 yrs old) I am still hoping for a cure!

Very Interesting!

I have just read your article on the known affects of GABA on the brains of insomniacs. I am a therapist who not only has studied brain dissorders but who has suffered from insomnia my self on and off for many years as has my daughter too. My insomnia has no other sleep disorders of physical problems and I can see totally how the brain just does not switch off. I do feel that stress also might exacerbate a low GABA level in the brain thus adding to the problem. I have just started taking a GABA supplement of 3g at night and certainly my brain is switching off more. I have also added an ionizer to my bedroom to increase negative ions whilst I sleep and this too seems to have helped. I will be studding several others too who are taking 3g of GABA who are simple insomniacs and will keep you posted. I am a Hypnotherapist as well as a Reflexologist and Reiki Master Teacher but have also studied psychology so have been an avid student of the mind, having written a book of poetry on behavior mainly my own, called Into The Light published by http//www.chipmunkapublishing.co.uk
