Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts - 2007

Funded in March, 2007: $70000 for 2 years
Funding from Dana will support the recruitment and training of 20 new teaching artists in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and the advancement of 28 master teaching artists from the Institute's 16 regional sites throughout the country.  The primary goal of the project is to expand Wolf Trap teaching artists' capacity to become better arts education facilitators.  New teaching artist training, which will take place during a one-week Institute followed by online instruction and workshops, will prepare new Wolf Trap teaching artists to develop and teach instructional content for classroom lessons that address specific early childhood and arts learning objectives.  Training for master teaching artists will consist of workshops and residencies.  Master teaching artists must be prepared to train, coach, and mentor teachers and Wolf Trap teaching artists within their regional program, as well as nationally and internationally.
