ClancyWorks Dance Company
Funded in March, 2007: $30000 for 1 years
With Dana funding, ClancyWorks will hold the Dance Educators Training Institute, a program to train in-school arts specialists and professional artists to teach dance and creative movement at the middle and high school levels in Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS). The Training Institute will include a week in Summer 2007 of intensive study combined with the opportunity to exchange ideas with master teachers from various disciplines and locales; a day in January of 2008 of supplementary training; and continued observation, mentoring and coaching of the participants throughout the 2007-2008 school year. The goals of the Training Institute include: providing participants with the latest and best practices in dance teaching methods and standards; improving the skills of in-school arts specialists currently working in the public school system; training additional dance educators to serve the BCPS; laying a foundation for a continuing program to refine the teaching of dance and movement in the public schools and documenting for public distribution the insights into the dance teaching process gained through the Training Institute.
