Center for Modern Dance Education - 2002
Funded in March, 2002: $15000 for 1 years
The Center for Modern Dance Education Center teaches dance to students ages five to sixteen, and is in part for "at-risk" and alternative classrooms, as well as disabled students. The Dana Foundation grant provided support for a week long seminar to train new dance faculty and refresh current faculty. Topics included teaching dance with regard to disability sensitivity, diversity training, English as a second language, conflict resolution, and state standards. The Center produced a written teacher's guide based on the seminar.
