The Dana Foundation grant will support "Voices," the pilot of a professional development program designed to provide in-school dance specialists with a method to teach the choreographic process, including analysis, interpretation, and judgment. The pilot will include an intensive five-day training session with internationally recognized choreographer Donald McKayle on choreographing specific historical content and sociopolitical themes. Documentation of the pilot will result in replicable lesson plans and a workbook.
