Choral Arts Society of Washington
Funded in March, 2004: $20000 for 2 years
The Dana Foundation grant will partially underwrite the professional development of artists involved in artsACCESS (Arts for Children Creates Educational Success in Schools). artsACCESS was launched in 1999 by The Choral Arts Society in consultation with DC Public School teachers, administrators, and community representatives to help fulfill the Society's mission to promote and share the art of choral music "through public outreach and education." The project uses the creative and participatory nature of music and the arts to teach across the curriculum in such subjects as literature, mathematics, science, and social studies.
