Renovation in Music Education
Funded in March, 2006: $50000 for 2 years
Dana Foundation funds will enable Renovation In Music Education to create a training program and materials to expand and replicate their Concert Curriculum to a wider array of orchestras, schools and communities. The Concert Curriculum sends musicians/teachers to work with whole grades of students. The goal is to bring the students into the professional musicians' world: coaching them on composing and performing in their classrooms, then in rehearsal, and finally on stage with a fully professional concert. RIME intends to develop a network of professional musicians who will work with students, teachers, schools, and ensembles participating in their programs.
