CoMotion Dance Project at the University of Montana

Funded in January, 2008: $50000 for 2 years
The Dana Foundation awarded funding to assist in the initiation of Montana’s Model Dance Education Project, a program that will develop teaching standards and train professional dancers to teach in Western Montana schools. The grant will provide training for eight professional dance artist/educators who will develop a standards-based interdisciplinary dance curriculum under the guidance of a nationally-known Kennedy Center trainer.  Trainees will receive 25 hours of pre-service training, 32 hours of in-service professional development training, 300 hours of curriculum development (with school staff), and 180 hours of individual mentoring.
