Roland Pochet, Ph.D.

Roland Pochet, Ph.D.Roland Pochet, Ph.D., Honorary Professor of Cell Biology at the Faculty of Medicine of Université Libre de Bruxelles, is a neuroscientist who studies stem cell transplantation for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Pochet spent two years in Israel with an Excellent in the Life Sciences (EMBO) fellowhip and in labs at the University of Texas and Vanderbilt University. From 2006 to 2013, he was chair of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST), an international organization that includes 36 countries. He created the European Calcium Society, is general secretary of the Belgian Brain Council, and evaluates projects for the European Commission. Pochet is member of the European Dana Alliance for the Brain and International Scientific Committe of AriSLA (Italian SLA).
